The 3rd National Curriculum Conference was held at the Kenya International Conference Centre (KICC) on Friday 16th, 2019Organized by Kenya’s Ministry of Education, the conference sought to share insights on the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) which has already been implemented in the early learning grades in Kenya. The conference brought together students, teachers, Cabinet Secretaries, government agencies, corporates, partners, and stakeholders in the education ecosystemPresident Uhuru Kenyatta was the Chief Guest at the colorful and informative eventBefore the conference, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with various other ministries had organized pre-conferences to discuss various issues affecting the education sector. Each Pre-Conference had a position statement on the outcomes and suggestions on the way forward on various issues of discussion. The statements were presented to the President during the 3rd National Curriculum ConferenceOne of such events was the Pre-conference on ICT integration in Education which was held on Wednesday 14th August 2019 at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development. eKitabu participated at the pre-conference with Mercy Kirui; Senior Manager, Content and Georgine Obura; Studio KSL Director having a chance to give their views on the panel discussions on Best Practices on ICT Utilization in Education and Sustainability and Teacher Capacity Development respectively Georgine Obura was appointed at the pre-conference to present the position statement to the President at the 3rd National Curriculum Conference. Among the recommendations made to the government were:
