Dear Friends,It’s time for the tenth annual Digital Essay Competition (DEC) in Kenya! eKitabu invites all upper primary and secondary school students in Kenya to submit their essays online at essay.eKitabu.com for the following categories: English, Kiswahili, Art, Kenyan Sign Language, braille, French, German and Arabic.
The DEC 2022 question is:
Who is your real life hero, and why?Ni nani shujaa wako halisi wa maisha, na kwa nini?Quel est ton héros dans la vraie vie, et pourquoi?Wer ist dein Held im wirklichen Leben und warum?DEC encourages teachers and students to use ICT in teaching and learning. It recognizes and rewards writers—and the teachers, parents, and caregivers who support them—to participate and submit their essays online. DEC prizes include scholarship money, computing devices, gift hampers, and national recognition with Kenya Ministry of Education for the achievements of students, teachers, and schools. In the past 10 years, DEC has engaged over 59,298 students with and without disabilities and their teachers across all 47 counties of Kenya. We are working to make DEC more inclusive, and we welcome collaboration with all DEC alumni, teachers, parents, caregivers, and stakeholders in education. We welcome your ideas, creativity, and resourcefulness to include all children in learning, reading, and writing.Warmest regards,Will[su_button url="https://mailchi.mp/ekitabu/ekitabu-tunaenda-digital-newsletter-may-2022" target="blank" background="#e80904" color="#ffffff" size="5" radius="0"]Read the entire newsletter here[/su_button]
