Our latest publication, Born at the End of the World by Donica Merhazion, is a co-publishing project between Catalyst Press and eKitabu’s adult literature imprint Mvua Press. It was officially released worldwide on February 17, 2026 following a friends and family pre-launch in December at Amina in Nairobi with Mvua Press—thank you to Lilly Piper for hosting at her fabulous new shop in Loresho Shopping Center! Donica is a lifelong storyteller who brings her intelligence and her beautiful heart to this debut novel, in which she shares the love story of her mother and father that landed them in the infamous prison Ethiopians named “Alem Bekagn,” the “End of the World,” during Ethiopia's Red Terror in the 1970s.
Mvua Press is hosting a book reading and signing session with Donica on Saturday February 28th at Qana Ethiopian Restaurant, Red Hill Road, in Nairobi. It will be a moment to meet the author, hear her powerful story firsthand, and get a signed copy of the book. The event, “A Homage to Survivors,” is open to the public, and participation is by purchasing a copy of the book, available at shop.eKitabu.com or you can buy it at the event.
