On Saturday 26 August from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, eKitabu in collaboration with AMKA Forum will host an exclusive writing workshop for high school students during the Nairobi International Book Fair (NIBF). This creative session offers students a rare opportunity to collaborate with professional editors through a unique peer-review process, where anonymous literary pieces by students are analysed and critiqued by experts, the audience, and participating authors.

AMKA Forum is a non-profit, non-partisan organization registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Act. Dedicated to providing women with a platform for expression, AMKA fosters institutional structures that encourage the active involvement of women and girls across socio-economic and socio-political spheres.

The AMKA Forum is a cornerstone of the literary community, meeting on the last Saturday of every month at the Goethe-Institut. These vibrant sessions bring together budding writers, published authors, critics, and experts to engage in constructive literary critique. Through this collaboration with eKitabu, AMKA extends its impactful reach to the next generation of storytellers: high school students.

Participating students will benefit from personalized editorial feedback, direct interaction with renowned literary figures, and intensive skill-building in reading and writing. To ensure an intimate and effective learning environment, the workshop is limited to five students per school, with each participant submitting one original piece for review.
