We have just awarded the 2019 ICT Teacher of the Year Award (iTOYA) winners and finalists in the just concluded 44th Kenya Secondary School Heads Association Annual General Meeting. The Prizegiving ceremony was held on Friday 14th June 2019 at Kenya School of revenue Administration (KESRA) in Mombasa County. In attendance were Government of Kenya Officials, eKitabu partners and sponsors, publishers, teachers, and invited guests. 2019 marks the third annual iTOYA to identify, recognize and reward teachers countrywide for innovative practices in how to use ICT for teaching and learning.The 2019 iTOYA Winners are:
The other finalists were Michael Macharia from Chuka high school in Tharaka Nithi County, Pascal Onani from Gadeni secondary School in Tana River County, Joseph Songok from St. Joseph Chepterit Girls High School in Nandi County and Josphat Mula from Fafi Girls Secondary School in Garissa County. They all won a laptop, trophies, certificate and gift hamper.iTOYA is a collaboration of eKitabu, CEMASTEA, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) to award teachers for the best innovative ICT practices in teaching and learning in the classroom.
