Recognizing that some learners may wish to express themselves in their mother tongue, DEC 2026 will welcome entries in Kenyan mother tongue languages responding to the theme "Let Me Speak...".
Students should clearly indicate on the cover of their essay the language they have used.

Choose one category to participate in:
English, Kiswahili, French, German, Chinese, Art, Kenya Sign Language (KSL) Videos, Braille, Arabic
Learners will be invited to complete the statement by sharing experiences, an issue they are passionate about, or a story primarily focusing on challenges. Learners may choose to focus on either their challenges or positive experiences.
Essay Winners' Prizes Include
Scholarship funds, computing devices, certificates, gift hampers, and public recognition.
